The problem is not how much work you put in

  • You revise whatever is at hand, in the order you happen to find it.
  • Three months later, you know a few points well and you have forgotten the rest.
  • The exam falls on a fixed date, and it does not ask about what you revised yesterday.

How it steers

One date, and everything follows

01

You set your date

It is the only thing we ask for first. From that date come your capacity (how many sessions fit before it), your margin, and your regime: on track, catchable up, or exam mode. A date you are aiming for is enough to start.

02

The calendar fills in

Every slot receives a block of the path, one exam speech act. You see the weeks up to your exam, not a list of lessons to get to some day. Moving a session breaks nothing: the programme recomposes itself and the teaching order holds.

03

A missed skill shifts the path

A missed point does not take up more room through some abstract weighting: it costs one more session, and that session shows up on the calendar. What is acquired drops out. If the date no longer holds, we say so, with the options costed, and nothing applies itself.

What sits behind it

The catalogue is written, proofread and filed by level, and it works with or without a plan. It is not a promise of content to come.

Everything is served in French, English and traditional Chinese.

No exam date yet?

The site works without a plan too: read the grammar freely, review cards by theme, practise lesson by lesson. The programme will be waiting the day you set a date.

Written production

Your paper, marked on the official grid

You write a DELF written production, and you get an assessment on the five criteria of the official grid, with the descriptor retained for each one. Not an overall mark: the five lines, and what decided them.

The total is shown out of 25 and stops there. No pass, no fail: one paper does not decide a diploma.

Taiwan

The real Alliance Française dates

The Taipei and Kaohsiung session calendar is in the product: one date per level, written and oral separately, and the registration window. Your programme aims at the written date, the one you must be ready for.

Taipei · Kaohsiung

Elsewhere, each centre sets its own dates: the product then computes a date and says so plainly, rather than announcing an official session that is official nowhere.

The interface is in traditional Chinese, Taiwan standard. Course content stays in French: that is the subject matter.

Who writes this course

A teacher, not a platform

I teach conversation classes over video, to students preparing the DELF. In each session I note the faulty sentences as they come, correct them, and publish a summary sheet.

Everything else comes from that. The lessons, exercises and card decks are written for what I see recurring in class, not to fill out a catalogue.

The site does the work a teacher cannot do between two sessions: remember what you got wrong three weeks ago, and put it back in front of you at the right moment.

The method

Why you forget, and how we fix that

Over a century ago, German researcher Hermann Ebbinghaus proved something simple: without review, you forget roughly 70% of what you learn within a week. It's not a memory problem, the brain simply prunes what it doesn't see again.

The fix is called spaced repetition. Instead of reviewing something every day (inefficient, it overloads you) or just once (useless, you'll forget it), the right time to review is right before you're about to forget. Not too soon, not too late.

Questions

What people ask

I do not have an exam date yet. Can I start?

Yes, put in the date you are aiming for. The programme runs up to it, and the date can be changed at any time from My account: the calendar regenerates without you losing what you have acquired. We simply ask you not to leave the field empty, because without a date there is no capacity and no margin, so there is no calendar to lay down.

What happens if I skip a week?

Session days are a rhythm, not appointments. A session not done on Monday stays due and can be caught up until Sunday evening, without being declared missed. For a holiday there is a pause mode: the calendar cancels the slots instead of counting them skipped, and tells you the cost when you come back rather than quietly making up for it.

Is this just another vocabulary flashcard site?

Cards exist, but they are not the product: they are a sub-step of a session, served by the warm-up. The product is a path made of blocks, one exam speech act per block, where each session is composed at launch from what you got right and wrong, not from an order decided in advance.

Do I have to pay to try it?

No. The study plan, one whole block of the path and the placement test are free, with no card. Subscriptions are not open yet in any case: no payment is asked for, or possible, today.

Is my data used for anything else?

No. No analytics tool, no advertising cookie. Your writing, your notes and your answers do not leave the site, and deleting your account erases everything, from My account, without having to write to anyone.

Set your date. We handle the rest.

Two answers, and your calendar is laid out up to exam day.
