Reading comprehension
DELF method: announcements, messages, menus. Read the questions first.

Complete Course · Level A2
What DELF A2 expects from you. Understand short, simple texts from everyday life: announcements, messages, menus, signs, friendly emails. You are not asked to understand everything. You are asked to find precise information.
2. Read the questions first
Before reading the text, read the questions. They tell you what to look for: a date, a price, a place, a number. Your reading becomes a hunt for information, not a word-for-word translation.
3. Spot without understanding everything
Numbers, capital letters, days of the week and words close to English can be spotted in seconds. An unknown word is almost never a problem: the answer is often right next to something easy to find.
4. The true/false question with justification
DELF rule: your answer only counts if the choice AND the sentence from the text that proves it are both correct. Always look for the exact sentence, never your intuition. If you cannot find a sentence that says it, doubt your answer.
5. Classic traps
The announcement says “before September 5” and the question offers “on September 5”. The text says “free for children” and the question is about adults. Distractors reuse words from the text with a small change: check the detail, not just the word.
6. Manage your time
At DELF A2, about 30 minutes for several documents. Never get stuck on one question: answer what you are sure of, come back later. An unanswered question is a point lost for sure, an attempted answer costs nothing.
